A custom domain for an event
How an organizer admin gives an event its own address, such as crew.yourfestival.com, and what that means for links and emails.
An event starts with an address at Crewstack. You can also have your own address, such as crew.yourfestival.com, so crew members go straight to your own domain. Crewstack sets it up for you.
What you can get
- Your own address for the event, such as crew.yourfestival.com. Crewstack provides a full SSL certificate, so the address works with https.
- Emails from your own email address. The event's emails, such as invitations and confirmations, can be sent from your own email instead of Crewstack's.
How to get started
- Write to support@crewstack.io with the address you want to use and the event it's for. Say so too if the event's emails should be sent from your own email address.
- Have someone ready who can change the DNS for your domain. We'll tell you what to add.
- We set up the domain and let you know when it works.
What changes when the event has a domain
- Links Crewstack sends in emails, for example for login, invitations, shifts and guest lists, use your address.
- Links to the event from the organizer page use your address.
- The event's old address at Crewstack still works.
Good to know
- Each event can have one domain, and a domain can only be used by one event.
- New year, new event. The domain follows the event it's set up for. If the address should be used for next year's event, write to us when you're ready to switch.
